I was thrilled when I got an email from Miss Rachel, inviting me to join her for a special dinner at The Pantry.  When I showed up I was thrilled to see, Brian Lim  and Matthew Vlahos I knew it was going to be a fun time.  I love foodies, they’re always a fun time, meeting  Ed Coffin,  Pam Selle, Tim Bennett Caroline Russock and Maria Beddia made the 4 course, 3 hours dinner a great time.  We had a blast – thanks everyone!

After making the transition to a plant based diet, I’ve enjoyed exploring the vegan scene in Philly.  Dinner at Miss Rachel’s was wonderful.  I love going to a spot where I can have anything on the menu, as opposed to dogging the hurdles of meat and dairy in the dishes.  I became convinced that a plant based, vegan diet was realistic because of places like Miss Rachel’s!  Vegan meals ARE NOT – bland boring tofu, sprouts, and lettuce!  The flavors and textures are so diverse that you won’t mind that there’s no meat or dairy, you’ll be so satisfied that it’s a non-issue.

Miss Rachel rolled out a bangin’ dinner.  My highlights, the petite fig-stuffed grilled cheese, amazeballz, the “cheesey” sauce that Miss Rachel uses is not to be believed!  I had a “is this really vegan” moment.  The strawberry cheesecakes were wonderful, litte mini cups of sweet deliciousness!  Truly talented vegan chefs can make you really believe you’re eating dairy when you’re eating plants!

Miss Rachel’s offers breakfast and lunch, however, if you’d like to enjoy a dinner around the table at Miss Rachel’s she offers it weekly, every Saturday.  The Saturday night dinner is a tasting menu just like the one we enjoyed.
