Well, first, let me say that I’ve probably gained about 5 – 10 lbs over the past year…. mostly blog related damage. However, I would be much larger if I didn’t learn one very important food fact. Moderation!
I’m the king of a 500 calorie meal at Fuel followed up by eating my weight in peanut butter and nutella infront of the TV. (I kid, I could never eat 185 lbs of peanut butter. Nutella on the other hand is a different story. (Not that I’ve ever sat in sweats scooping Peanut Butter & Nutella with a spoon watching The Good Wife on Sunday nights at 9 EST. I’ve never done that, and that will be the story I’m sticking with!)
4 Hour Body?

I had lunch with a friend who’s following the 4 Hour Body?
The picture shows our lunch. It was visually appealing and quite yummz, as we covered it with balsamic. We also downed several glasses of water.
The meal plan sounds something like a body builder diet. Nothing white, no fruit, no diary (I think), you drink a protein shake within 30 minutes of waking up. and virtually no exercise.
There are some weird parts. To really jump start the weight loss – you lay in a tub and cover yourself in 2 bags of ice, you take ice cold showers. Apparently, your body has to burn more calories to keep you warm.
The lunch was really delicious, but I’ve done those very regimented meal plans in the past and found tremendous success, it’s managing the calories in vs. the calories burned after you’re off the meal plan that is the forever challenge.

The Hot Dog Phase is in full affect
Yet another food craze is taking hold here in Philly – HOT DOGS! After Hot Diggity Dog opened last June, it was only a matter of time before more dog joints began popping up.
A few weeks ago I was walking on 17th St (@Sansom St) and noticed there was a new joint opening in the location that used to be my favorite shoe repair shop. I made a mental note and just waited. Sure enough, the blog posts from my fellow food bloggers began to appear – Underdogs is here.
My favorite part of being a food blogger is the texts and emails from friends who keep me up to date on the foodie goings on here in Philly. I had, literally, just scarfed down a Texas Tommy from Underdogs as I received a text from a friend giving me the scoop on the dog joint’s opening. I laughed and sent her a pic of me with a dog in my mouth.
